By Lee MacRae
Bluetooth is 82.4 GHz short range RF technology that allows transmission of data and voice. There are a number of ways that Bluetooth technology can be used to make life easier. Follow along as we discuss in this article the variety of areas where Bluetooth can come into play.
Bluetooth Enabled Headsets Bluetooth enabled headsets are extremely easy and simple to use all without the use of wires. Usually, all you need to do to connect to a Bluetooth enabled device is press and keep the power button on for 5 sec. An LED on the headset will blink and starts to search for Bluetooth devices like a cell phone, printer or PC to connect to. Often, if there is a PIN code required a default one is usually applied.
The Bluetooth Dongle The Bluetooth Dongle offers you a way for connecting various pieces of Bluetooth equipment to your own computer that is not already Bluetooth capable. So a Bluetooth dongle allows you to connect your non-Bluetooth ready desktop or laptop computer with pieces of equipment that have Bluetooth installed. So you can, for example, gain a connection to the World Wide Web or Internet as long as you are within 32 feet. Bluetooth technology is great for sharing files, transferring images, for printing, exchanging data and synchronizing devices. And you can also use the dongle with your Bluetooth headset to enable voice calls on the internet with Skype.
Bluetooth Can Work Automatically The Bluetooth system is designed to allow low bandwidth wireless connections to become so easy for anyone to use hand seamlessly integrate into everything you do. An example of a very simple application is updating the phone directory of your mobile phone. You would have to manually enter the information of all your contacts or use a cable or IR link to connect your cell phone and PC and use another program to synchronize the info. With Bluetooth, this could all happen automatically and without you having to get involved
But you can easily imagine this happening to update your to do list, e-mails, memos...everything! And yet this is only one application for this new technology! You have the future prospect of walking into any store and having any sale items automatically delivered to your PDA or cell phone! It is a definite possibility with Bluetooth.
In conclusion, there are tons of advantages/benefits to using wireless devices with Bluetooth. While it improves safety as a result of eliminating the clutter of wires and associated hazardous connections, wireless Bluetooth also offers many convenient advantages. For example, when you are traveling with your laptop, PDA, MP3 player and other devices, and you don't have to pack all of those connecting cables you now need.
